My second to last drunk was a doozy. I went with Dana Munson to her art opeing at GSU, and was asked to leave cuz I was pissing in a plant under a painting. I then made my way to the tv station where I had my show, and proceeded to beat a small guitar over a complete stranger's head, screaming, "Do you know who I am," repeatedly. There was a live show going on, at the time, and viewers were treated to my yelling and screaming. I turned myself in to some plain closed cop somewhere, a week or so later. The Prosecutor was a grizzled drill seargeant type, and I know that you are not supposed to talk to the prosecutor, but I went in and saw him, told him I was a drunk, that I, finally, wanted to quit, could I just not get jail. He was way cool. I did drink one more time, though, and it was Danny Simmons, my guitar player at the time, who said, "Mikel, don't you remember what you told me...??" when I asked him on the phone to come get me, so I could drink more. I respected Danny, and his voice of reason, sent me home, and not to the next bar.
